I had seen this dress in a music video before seeing it in a store, it's one of the sailor cutie dresses that Gfriend wear in "Me gustas tu" and it's adorable. Even if I hand't seen it being worn by a Kpop idol all cute and perfect, I would have been drawn to it. So it's navy blue, one of my favorite colors, toned down yet adorable, it has a wide, white V marking a collar, sailor style but again, minimalist. Then there's the sweetest pleats at the bottom, like it was a mini skirt. Design-wise, if you're into simple and clean, it's great. Easy to wear and easy to coordinate, comfortable, flowy, baggy, big... yeah you get it. I do have to admit the dress is a little shapeless, but you can play around with that, get a belt or a cardigan or tie a button down shirt around your waist. Then there's the fabric choice, not my favorite, like a mix of polyester and chiffon, but it is more than easy to iron and maintain. That is pretty much it, I'm well satisfied with picking the dress and I'm more than comfortable with wearing it out to play with the whole "sailor doll" theme in a subtle version.

My hubby was telling me these dresses were so similar, so what was the point of having both, and maybe you agree, but I don't really think that way. I thoroughly like both of these dresses, and they are similar, yes, but so different as well. The first one is a little more toned-down and it can be worn as a complete casual dress, lounge-wear, anything. This one is a step above and it's not focusing on that minimalism or on that casualness, this is the cuter, dolly-er version. The bow-tie, the red and white stripes that assimilate a delicious, sweet candy. The A-shape, rather than the straight shape from the previous dress. It's also shorter and it stands out in a different way. That's what it is, this dress is a dollier, yummier version of sailor fashion. Besides, it's not so much as the popular sailor style in Korean fashion as it is a retro sailor doll look. You can also play around with it differently, accessorizing and what not. For example, add a pretty, fitted cardigan that you can button down in that V neck and have a small emblem pin on the chest area. That would be adorable, just make sure there's some contrast with the cardigan and it isn't navy blue as well. Hmm, anyway I love the dress. It is short on me, sadly, but I'm wearing white shorts underneath and I felt just fine. This fabric is amazing, like a very thin, light sweater, exactly like a good cardigan.
